Initial Set Up
WARNING! This equipment is
to be used for motor oil and transmission fluid only! Any other use may
cause damage, fire, explosion or death.
-
Install suction hose and
discharge hose assemblies.
-
Plug unit into a 115V
GFI protected outlet.
-
Insert wand into oil (8
quarts) which will be used to prime the unit.
-
Move the toggle switch
to the suction position.
-
After a 15 second
start delay, the pump will start and the vacuum gauge will
indicate fluid being pumped into the holding tank.
-
When 8 quarts have been
sucked into the unit, move the mode switch to the OFF position.
(Disregard the totalizer reading at this point).
-
Place discharge hose
into suitable container to accept used oil. (Oil will discharge with
considerable pressure. Be sure discharge hose is secure).
-
Move the mode selection
switch to DISCHARGE. After a 15-second delay, the oil will begin
emptying from the unit and automatically stop when finished. When
finished, move the mode switch to the OFF position.
-
Your unit is now
properly set up and ready to begin evacuating engine oil and will
accurately measure fluid removed.
Operating The Equipment
Three things determine the
speed of the oil evacuation using the EVAC 7000.
-
Temperature of the oil
-
Size of the wand
-
Length of the wand
Oil thins out dramatically
at high temperature. The average oil temperature of a late model car is
160-190 degrees F. The higher the oil temperature, the faster the
evacuation time. Obviously a wide, short wand will evacuate faster than
a thin, long wand.
To insure complete oil
evacuation, we recommend the following procedures: Check your reference
book (Gousha Quick Lube Guide) for engine oil capacities and recommended
oil weights. |
