Trouble Shooting the EVAC 7000

1. Power on light does not light. Unit will not start:
a. Check to see that the unit is plugged in.
b. Check to insure that the power switch is "ON".
c. Check power circuit breaker or fuses to outlet that the unit is plugged into.
d. Check fuse under top panel.

2. Oil level indicator is inaccurate:

a. Follow procedures for initial start-up and calibration.
b. Check condition of level sensing float in onboard holding tank.
c. Check to insure that the float assembly moves up and down freely.
d. Contact John Read at (925) 734-5800

3. Evacuation Slow or Doesn't Occur. Vacuum gauge reads low:

a. Check for maximum reading by blocking the end of the wand;  Note vacuum.
b. Remove wand from hose and black end of hose. Note vacuum. If higher reading, check wand condition carefully for obstructions, splits, tears, kinks, etc.
c. If still low, remove evacuation hose from Y-strainer of machine. Plug hole on machine, note vacuum read. If higher than previous reading, carefully check condition of evacuation hose.
d. Clean out Y-strainer - take out plug with screen attached and blow out debris in the screen with an air hose.
e. Close intake valve for proper operation.
f. If reading is still low, contact John Read at (925) 734-5800

4. Evacuation does not occur. Vacuum gauge reads 26" or higher:

a. Wand or evacuation hose obstructed. A piece of rod will clear the wand, (use carefully; blunt end of a rod with file).
b. Suspended ceiling support wires available in 10' lengths can be purchased at most lumber yards or hardware stores.
c. If wand is clear and condition persists, remove hose from machine and clear as necessary.

5. High level light is lit. Evacuation does not occur:

a. Set mode switch to discharge to return evacuated oil to the facility waste oil tank.
b. Remove back cover, visually check oil level, note position of the electrically actuated valves. See description on Page23 for valve versus mode position. If valves are not in the proper position, depress the "Clutch" button on the actuator and manually move the valve to the desired position. The tank should now be empty and the high level light should go off.
