Installation of Equipment

Location

The EVAC 7000 should be mounted on the exit side of your facility. If you purchased one machine, the best location would be between two service bays. It can be mounted easily on the floor; however, wall or pedestal mounting is preferred as it allows better visibility of the controls and fluid indicator lights. If your facility has an above-ground lift, the 7000 will readily mount to one of the lift columns. The 7000's sturdy steel angle frame allows mounting from the side. The 7000 weighs approximately 200 pounds. Be certain that all hardware and brackets are of sufficient capacity. The following is a list of criteria for machine location:

  1. Adequate space to permit freedom of movement for the evacuation hose and wand assembly to enable easy access to the vehicle being serviced, whether it's on the ground or elevated on a lift.

  2. An unobstructed view of the control panel, particularly the vacuum gauge.

  3. Unobstructed movement of personnel during vehicle servicing.

  4. Access to electrical outlet and plumbing for waste oil line.

Mounting

Photo #1 is a simple column-type mount. As mentioned earlier, the frame of the 7000 will allow mounting from any side, including the top. Check carefully before drilling any holes in the machine to insure sufficient clearance inside the cabinet. Extra holes are not covered under the warranty. Do not drill holes below the lower back door opening. on any sides or back because this serves as a double containment for the reservoir tank. The following is a list of criteria for machine mounting:

  1. Floor Mount (not recommended) - Place the unit in position on a level floor surface. Provide adequate clearance to oil discharge line bulkhead fitting.

  2. Wall Mount or Post Mount - Install four 5/16 x 18 machine bolts (not furnished). Use lock nuts or lock washers. Be sure unit is level in all planes. Check with a carpenter's spirit level. See drawing #1
