Most vehicles on the road today are equipped with serpentine belt-driven pulleys. This system has replaced the older practice of using V-belts to turn individual accessories. Replacing belts on serpentine-style vehicles is much easier and less time consuming than on a v-belt equipped vehicle. One of the most beneficial aspects of a serpentine system is the automatic tensioner. The automatic tensioner is preset at the factory upon engine assembly. It's job is to maintain proper tension on the belt. Because of this component, Oil Changer technicians can replace your serpentine belts quickly and without specialized tools that measure the tension of the belt. Furthermore, you can also be assured that your belt is not too loose or too tight, but set to factory specifications. So do you need a new serpentine belt? As with all vehicles, serpentine belt replacement intervals vary. Part of each service at Oil Changers includes an inspection of your belt by our technicians. They will verify the overall condition and notify you should they need replacement. |
